Registered users

Users registered as pet owners

On registering online with WeTrace as a pet owner, access to your account details is for the purpose of managing said details (about you and your pet(s)) and that this is on the condition that you agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions (or any subsequent revisions). WeTrace reserve the right to withdraw online access to the website at any time without notice should these Terms and Conditions be contravened.

It is advised that account login details should never be disclosed to any third parties.

 

Users registered as vets and other authorised agents

WeTrace allows online access to our website for vets, animal welfare professionals and other such authorised agents. Such agents would include:

•           Vets

•           Animal professionals working for registered animal welfare and rescue organisations.

•           Police officers

•           Professional (private or commercial) microchip implanters and suppliers (working under We Trace Pets).

Access to our website is given to such persons for the sole purpose of providing or accessing data with the aim of reuniting lost animals with their owners with the aid of the We Trace Pets database. This access is granted on the condition that users agree to abide by these terms and conditions (or any subsequent revisions) and on the understanding that WeTrace reserve the right to withdraw this access, without notice, should users not adhere to these terms.

Again, it is advised that account login details should never be disclosed to any third parties and that individual members of staff should register for access individually. Should any individual member of staff with authorised access to the WeTrace online database subsequently cease to be employed by an authorised agent, the agent is obliged to inform WeTrace immediately in order for that person’s access to be revoked and deleted.

 

Accessing the Website

It should be noted and understood that access to the WeTrace website is permitted on a temporary basis. WeTrace reserve the right to withdraw or amend provided online services without notice and are not liable in any way should the WeTrace website be unavailable online at any time / for any period. WeTrace reserve the right to restrict registered users’ access to certain areas / functionality of the WeTrace website.

It should be understood that any passwords, ID codes, user names or any other piece of information created / required as part of the online registration or security process should be treated with due discretion and confidentiality by users and never disclosed to third parties. WeTrace reserve the right to disable passwords/ ID codes if it is believed that a user has failed to act with such discretion and caution.

As such, users should note and be advised that they are responsible for verifying any information presented, and that WeTrace cannot accept any liability for any subsequent actions users take without having obtained necessary legal and/or other professional advice.

Nothing in these terms and conditions states that WeTrace will in any way accept any liability for death or personal injury resulting from its negligence. Likewise, WeTrace does not accept any liability for fraudulent misrepresentation or any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

In our aim to ensure information posted on the website is accurate and up-to-date, users should be aware that online content may change / be amended at any time. On occasions where the website is being updated, WeTrace reserve the right to suspend users’ access to the website temporarily or indefinitely.

WeTrace accept no liability for material downloaded / accessed on the website and users are entirely responsible for any resulting damage to IT software, hardware, or any loss of data.

However, this is purely on the understanding that it os done in a fair manner, within the law and does not damage or take advantage of WeTrace’s reputation. It should also be noted that WeTrace reserve the right to amend the structure / configuration of the website at anytime, making any link invalid/ unusable.

Suspending and terminating users’ access
WeTrace reserve the right to determine when a user has broken the terms and conditions through the use of the website. In such cases, WeTrace will take such action as is thought appropriate; actions may include immediate, temporary or permanent withdrawal of user’s access to the website, and removal of information/ material  users have uploaded to the website. Where deemed necessary, WeTrace may issue warnings to a user, or begin legal proceedings to recoup any loss/ damages/ costs incurred by a breach of terms.
